Custom animal shelter trading cards: help adoptable pets get noticed

Shelters and rescues work hard to show people who their animals really are. A trading card gives each animal a personality, a photo and a way to be remembered.

Why shelters and rescues use trading cards

  • They tell the animal’s story. A card can show a favourite toy, a best friend at the shelter and the things that make them special, which a kennel card often cannot.
  • They are easy to hand out. Cards work at adoption events, markets, school visits, vet clinics and fundraisers, where people can take one home and think about it.
  • They help animals stand out. A shy dog or a senior cat can be easy to overlook, and a card with a good photo and a funny line gives them a better chance of a second look.
  • They make a lovely adoption keepsake. A Rescued card is something an adopter can keep to remember where their pet came from.

Features that suit shelters

  • Adopt Me badge. Mark an animal as looking for a home with a badge under the stat bars.
  • Rescued badge. Celebrate a happy ending, for example for a card given to the adopter.
  • Card note. Pet Friendly, Ask to Pet, Do Not Pet or Just 4 Looking, so visitors know how to meet each animal.
  • Your name and Instagram. Use the owner line for the shelter’s name and the Instagram line for its page, so interested people know where to go.
  • A My Palz code (optional). A small QR code on the back that leads to the card’s page on this site.

How it works

  1. Open the card builder and add the animal’s photos, name, stats and fun facts.
  2. Choose the Adopt Me or Rescued badge and a Card note.
  3. Save the card and choose a pack. Larger packs, such as 78 or 108 cards, have the lowest price per card, and you get 20% off the whole order when you buy two or more packs.
  4. We print on real trading card stock and ship to your door.

Good to know. Pocket Palz is an independent business and is not affiliated with any shelter or rescue. Please make sure the details on each card, including adoption information, are accurate. See our Terms for details.
